Game Recap

On Thursday, the Lady Braves met with the Lady Sultans in an intense and competitive game.

The Lady Braves offense was rewarded with 2 penalty corners, but ultimately could not score against the Lady Sultans defending players.

Of the 15 Lady Sultan penalty corners against the Lady Braves, 2 ended as goals. With 4 goal keeper saves, the Lady Braves defense, led by goal keeper Marina Ybarra (’18), were able to defend against the other 13 penalty corners successfully.

One Lady Brave whose play and determination stood out during this match was Emily Lopez (’18). Emily could be seen running the ball down the sideline and making incredible passes, then could be seen defending in the midfield in order to keep the ball on the Lady Sultans’ half. For Emily’s play and improvement, she has been chosen as Player of the Game.

Keep checking back to see how the Lady Braves have improved as they enter the second half of their league season!

Game Recap

The Lady Braves competed against a tough and advanced team. The quick Lady Vaqueros proved too much for our Lady Braves, and scored a total of 6 unanswered goals.

Of the 8 shots on goal, goal keeper Marina Ybarra (’18) successfully blocked 2.

Although it was a tough loss for the Lady Braves, the hard work and determination of the offensive players did not go unnoticed. El Capitan’s coaching staff could be heard praising Warjeen Suleiman (’18) for her motivation and incredible stick work as she and her forwards fought to reach El Capitan’s goal. For this reason, and for her consistent play over the course of the season, Warjeen Suleiman was chosen as Player of the Game.

The Lady Braves look forward to continuing to improve their game play as the season comes to an end!
